Analyst Bitcoin Price Predictions: Who's On Track and Who's Not

All Cryptocurrencies

by COINS NEWS 28 Views

A month ago Bitcoin was sitting in the low $60Ks, with many expecting further drawdowns. It was down roughly 50% from its October 2025 peak. Most mainstream analysts turned bearish in response, with Citi cutting its base case twice down to $82K with a $53K bear case. NYDIG floated a scenario where BTC bottoms near $38-39K by October, and prediction markets had priced under 20% odds of even reaching $90K by year-end.

But now we’re back near $80K and sentiment appears to be turning bullish once more. To celebrate this rally, here’s every analyst Bitcoin price target we tracked in our Bitcoin Price Predictions 2026 article, what their calls were, their target dates and where they stand now.

Analyst/Firm Prediction Target Date Status vs. $80K (~Current Price)
Citigroup Base: $82K / Bear: $53K Mid-2027 Base case essentially already hit
Standard Chartered $100K End of 2026 ~25% away, Kendrick called $64K "a screaming buy"
Bernstein $150K End of 2026 Needs another ~88% from here
NYDIG $38K-39K (scenario, not forecast) ~Oct 2026 Looking increasingly unlikely at current price
Fidelity (Timmer) $65K-75K 2026 (consolidation) Already exceeded on the upside
JPMorgan $150K-170K 2026 Needs another ~90-110%
Grayscale New ATH (>$126K) H1 2026 (missed) Still ~58% away, original timeline already passed
Bitwise New ATH (>$126K) 2026 Still ~58% away
Galaxy Digital (Thorn) $250K End of 2027 Longer horizon, not a 2026 test
Tom Lee (Fundstrat) $200K-250K End of 2026 Needs another 2.5x-3x
Sean Farrell (Fundstrat) ~$115K Year-end 2026 Needs another ~44%
Peter Brandt As low as $25K 2026 Increasingly at odds with current price
Bitfinex $80K-100K 2026 Bottom of range already hit

On track: Standard Chartered and Fidelity look best-positioned right now, both already in range or exceeded on the upside. Citi's base case is essentially already met too, though their $53K bear case (built on an assumption of zero net ETF inflows for the next 12 months) is looking a lot less likely to be needed.

Not on track: NYDIG's bearish scenario and Peter Brandt's $25K call are the most out of step with where price actually sits, both would need a sharp reversal in the opposite direction with limited time left in the year. On the bullish side, Tom Lee's $200K-250K is the single biggest gap on the table, he never moved that target through the drawdown to $58K, and this rally still leaves him needing roughly a 3x from current levels to be right by year-end.
